Sleep Tip from the Mentalist TV Show

I like watching the Mentalist TV show and yesterday I got finally around to watch my latest recorded show. To my delight and surprise Patrick Jane's character gave this tip to help you fall asleep:

If you have falling asleep you can count sheep or on your in-breath say or think 1 and then when you breath out say or think 2. On your next in-breath say or think 1 and when you breath out say or think 2. Keep on repeating this and you will be surprised that when you wake up it is morning.

Give it a try and then connect with me on Facebook and let me know what happened . . .

Found a Great Site: Practical Tips for Productive Living

Just recently I came across this treasure trove of a site. It is called Marc and Angel Hack Life - Practical tips for productive living. The put together lists of helpful information for a productive life.

Here are just a few of tips of the list: "101 Simple Truths We Often Forget"
  • 1.  The acquisition of knowledge doesn’t mean you’re growing.  Growing happens when what you know changes how you live.
  • 11.  Growth begins at the end of your comfort zone.  Stepping outside of your comfort zone will put things into perspective from an angle you can’t grasp now.
  • 20.  Having a plan, even a flawed one at first, is better than no plan at all.
  • 33. Being successful is a journey, not a destination.
  • 39.  Everyone you meet is better than you at something.  We all have different strengths.  What worked for someone else might not work for you.
  • 47.  Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
  • 57.  Screaming at people always makes things worse.
  • 65.  Family isn’t always blood.  They’re the people in your life who want you in theirs – the ones who would do anything to see you smile and who love you no matter what.
  • 82. Giving up doesn’t always mean you’re weak, sometimes it means you are strong enough and smart enough to let go.
  • 99.  No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying.
Now don't you just want to know what the other Truths are? Follow this link and check out the post.

What We Can Learn from a 108-Year Survivor of a Nazi Concentration Camp

Just came across this powerful 12 minute video about Alice Herz Summer a 108- year-old survivor of a Nazi Concentration Camp.  Her positive outlook is what helped her survive.

Alice Herz Summer Quotes from the Video

  • Complaining doesn't change things or people.
  • Be grateful for everything in your life.
  • Learn from your mistakes. Learn from the bad and focus on the good. That's the way the life works. That is the essence of optimism.
  • Smile a lot.
  • Hatred eats the soul of the hater not the hated.
  • Everything is a present.

I once read this quote that totally agrees with what Alice says.

"We live our lives looking forward,
but we make sense of our lives by looking backward."

These pictures were taken with my Creative Webcam Go Camera, before I had my Sony Mavica FD92 Digital Camera. I got the camera in April of 2001.

It is September and the leaves are just about to change colors.

October 2000

The fall foliage was just beautiful. These pictures were taken with my Creative WebCam Go. I will take sharper pictures with my new digital camera in the coming fall.

January 2001

This winter we had lots of snow. I took the pictures in January 2001 after a big snowstorm.

Cutting Down A Tree – Step by Step Pictures – 2008

27/05 2008

We had a big beech tree in our backyard on a hill and bit by bit it was dying. Also there seems to be a problem with beech trees, the leaves come out fine, but after about 2 weeks the leaves have brown spots. So, this year we decided it was time to take it down. I had no intention of doing it myself. At my age using a chain saw didn’t seem a good idea. Also beech is one of the hardest woods and the dead branches I tried to cut off with a hand saw took forever. We thought it best to hire professionals to do the job and they did a great job.

I saw on the other end of the hill with my camera and kept on taking pictures so that I would have a cool sequence of the way they took the tree down. Here is the sequence of how they tackled the job.

Honey Ketchup Chicken Wings

My daughter asked me for the recipe, so I decided to put it online as well.

hibernateIt is holiday season and we want to social, but the universal influence for December tells us that we want to go into virtual hibernation. Make sure to schedule some ‘me time’ this month. Read the rest for the #7 below.

The number information in italics is for the current month’s universal forecast. To find you own personal month add your month and day of birth and the current month and year like in the example below.

Example: Feb 3, December 2011
2+3+1+2+2+0+1+1=12=1+2=3

You are ready for a new start. You find that you have more energy and opportunities are opening up. Take that risk. Join a group or church. You could meet a new friend who shares a special interest of yours. Go visit a new place. You are able to state your needs very clearly now, so ask for what you want. Be assertive and decisive. How about getting a new hairstyle or taking a class?

#2 – Details are Important

You are feeling letdown after much accomplishment. Having to pay attention to details brings restrictions. Back down on a threat. Group meeting will be long tedious. You need to analyze carefully where you are right now and then reform. A relationship is demanding your attention. This month will bring a strong feminine influence and also earned peace.

#3 – This Is It

This is the last month of the whole 9 year cycle for you, so reminize over the good memories of the last nine years. Use your imagination and intuition to feel out the new phase you are entering. Look ahead.

It is a good idea to finish the work that needs to be done by the end of the year. You will take care of the things that need to be done on or in the home. Surprise this is the month for virtual hibernation as you have a great need to relax an analyze what you have been doing and where you are going. It will be a poor month for money unless you have a popular specialty. Schedule some ‘alone time’. Be easy on your made and be less demanding. Go for trip to the country or even a retreat. Go with the flow and don’t fight circumstances. Get in touch with your spiritual side.

#8 – Business Opportunities

Business opportunities are highlighted as the long-awaited change arrives. You are working hard and are reaping much success. This is the time for promotion, money, authority, supervision and working with groups and institutions. You want to buy, sell and exchange. You notice that you have currently  tendency towards ostentatious behavior. You feel strong and very confident.

#9 – Go With the Flow

This could be a time of very great accomplishment and satisfaction. Be sure to finish all projects and don’t start anything new just yet. Be tolerant and philosophical in all matters. Go with the flow and let your higher self (not your ego) guide you and make decisions. Just let go and aid humanitarian causes.

You Get What You Feel and Think, Not What You Want

I haven't posted here for a long time, but when I came across this video I just had to share it. Your life reflects your thoughts and feelings. If you don't like what you see in your life, change your thoughts and feeling.

After I found this video, I this quote appeared in my inbox from Abraham:
What you do is miniscule in comparison with what you choose to think, because your vibration is so much more powerful and so much more important. ~Abraham
